This Privacy Policy describes how Techomated LLC ("we," "our," or "us") handles information in connection with your use of the TabGap Chrome extension (the "Extension").
TabGap is built with privacy as a core principle. The Extension is designed to function without collecting any personal data or transmitting your information to our servers.
By installing and using the TabGap Chrome Extension, you agree to the handling of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information Handled by the Extension
TabGap exclusively uses your browser's local storage to function. This means all data related to your use of the Extension is stored securely on your own computer and is never sent to us or any third party.
The Extension handles the following data locally:
Saved Tab Data: When you save a tab, the Extension stores its URL, title, favicon URL, and any personal notes you add. This data is necessary for the core feature of saving and managing your tabs.
Extension Settings: Your preferences, such as the position and enabled state of the floating button or the expanded state of the hub view, are saved locally so the Extension remembers your choices.
We do NOT collect, store, or have access to any personally identifiable information (PII), including your name, email address, IP address, or browsing history.
2. How Your Information Is Used
The data handled by the Extension is used solely to provide and operate its features:
To save, display, and organize your list of tabs.
To remember and apply your custom settings.
To enable features like searching your saved tabs and notes.
3. Information Sharing
We do not share, sell, rent, or trade any of your information because the data is never transmitted to us in the first place. It remains on your local device.
In the future, if we were to implement any feature that required data processing by a third-party service (e.g., an analytics service to improve features), this Privacy Policy would be updated to clearly disclose such practices, and such features would be opt-in where feasible.
4. Data Security
We are committed to the security of your information. Since TabGap stores all data locally within your browser's secure storage, the safety of your data relies on the security of your computer and your Google Chrome profile.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
Your locally stored data (saved tabs and settings) remains in your browser's storage until you take one of the following actions:
Manually delete the data within the Extension.
Uninstall the TabGap Extension.
Clear your browser's local storage or extension data through Chrome's settings.
Uninstalling the Extension will permanently delete all data associated with it from your device.
6. Children's Privacy
Our Extension is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has used the Extension, please contact us. If we become aware that any data has been inadvertently handled in a way that violates this policy, we will take appropriate steps.
7. International Users (GDPR & CCPA Compliance)
For users covered by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), we are in compliance by design. As we do not collect or process any personal information on our servers, your data rights (such as access, rectification, and erasure) are fulfilled by the controls available to you directly within your browser and the Extension itself (e.g., deleting tabs or uninstalling).
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
